JEWLS

Visualizer for “Hyper Loose” and “Serpentine Lovers”

I had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with musician Jewls and videographer Lars Zimmermann to create visuals for two tracks from the "We Invented Speed" E.P. Jewls’ strong artistic vision formed the foundation, with the aim of seamlessly complementing the existing visuals of the E.P., which explore themes of romanticism, fairytales, and a medieval aesthetic.

"Hyper Loose" This track bursts with energy and chaotic dynamics. For the visuals, we created a striking contrast: an intense green set paired with a red, thorny hand—a symbol of impending pain or a dark premonition. The black-and-white look heightens the contrast with an androgynous ensemble of a white shirt, black tie, and shorts, adding an air of ambiguity. The red thorn enters the scene unexpectedly, leaving a haunting, almost unsettling impression.

"Serpentine Lovers" For this track, we took a different direction: a romantic still-life where Jewls performs the song through the reflection of a mirror. The visuals echo the drama of the song—a story of intense yet dysfunctional love. The mood is theatrical and melancholic, emphasizing the depth of the relationship portrayed.

I am happy to join forces with Jewls and Lars Zimmermann again for a full video shoot at the end of 2024—stay tuned!
